Sometimes, my guy friends love to tease me because I am a bit “boyish”. The way I sit, stand, dress up and especially eat… I’m sort of every mother’s nightmare.(But I know my mom love me very much.. *lol)
But one thing that is very “feminine” about me…
I’m a sucker for romance and love story. So when I heard about how they derived their shop name, I felt butterflies in my tummy already.
Upon reaching the shop. I nearly missed it because it’s secluded cosily in a corner. I came with my gorgeous friend Alice and WHQ fan who has supported us religiously thru out the years, the beautiful Yana. (if you want to join WORLD HALAL TRAVELLER™ in her “eating spree”, do email us at email@example.com)
The owners are Emilia and Ashraf thus the birth of ELOVEA’S as the brand name of their cupcake shop. I was actually smitten by their love for each other. We can feel the love vibes around them. Such cosiness and lovely feeling.
Oops, I’m being too carried away…with the LOVE bug…ok, back to the topic of eating. We get to taste their top 5 flavours. Alice loved the banana flavour. To me, it tasted like the uncooked flour mixture of “jemput2 pisang” (fried banana ball fritters) in which I love to taste when I was a child and often I got smacked by an elder with a wooden ladle whenever I put my unwashed lil fingers in.. *lol.)
Yana loved the salted caramel flavour. (You can opt not to have the salt sprinkled over it). It was ok to me. Not that overbearing. The pleasantness of saltishness and sweetness is something I kinda like.
I realised that their cakes are mostly dense and have very rich flavours. No wonder the kids from nearby schools were flocking in as we were doing our tasting spree. And one thing, I realised that…the cakes are baked by Ashraf. And they were intricately made with utmost love. I can feel the TLC in every bite. Best part is that… their ingredients used are fresh. I like the fact that each cupcake is handmade even though they have a shop which have great demand of orders, at times.
Their customers are often repetitive ones because not only the flavours are yummy, the prices are affordable. The cakes can last whole day without refrigeration. But with refrigeration, they can last for a week.
