Don’t let this simple noodle FOOL you. Its fresh broth is YUMMYY!!! Just right to start a brand new day….(and i saw many queing up for it!) and if ur tummy can take it, try it with those Powerful cili padis, sure will sent u flying …..
This asam pedas is subtle but delicious. With the ketola bening, woo-hoo! Early morning breakfast with rice….
Nasi goreng is ok but the sambal anchovies are nice…
I saw this fried ikan keli (similar to catfish) , got to ta-pow it and eat it like a snack (like a cat) it tasted wonderful with its crisp skin and fresh flesh…Meows..
One of our gang bought this sticker…Defensive driver…hee! (translating the sticker “Don’t like my driving? Dial 1800-go-to-Hell”- sorry about the language)
Jalan-jalan sambil makan (Quick bite @KFC with cheezy BBQ meltz-have crunchy bits of tortilla chips in it)
Kota Sarang semut? (city of ants nest)
We saw lots of animals at the roadside: cows, goats and this cute horse..we even get to feed him (err, the owner is not around)
Putra Brasmana hotel in Perlis
The menu..(lopsided? forget it…just head to the nearest seafood hawker centre opposite the hotel, or the karaoke lounge below)
PERLIS
After we showered , we left the hotel and recce this place.
First stop: GORENG PISANG!!!(fried banana fritters!!) and Yummy SAGO DESSERT!! (road side stall )
This is UNIQUE! U know jemput2 pisang? (the fried banana ball?)Imagine it being steamed instead of fried. Interesting…feel like I was eating uncooked flour banana mixture..heheh!
The Yummy SAGO (at the back) is so YUMMY!! Its not that sweet and its lemak (coconutty/savoury). Very nice. No spoon, so we make a hole in the plastic and suck it out hehehhe!
Along the way…
Lunch TIME!!!
Found this restaurant in the middle of paddy fields/village. Very big and spacious. Quite clean too.
The food has a thailand influence. But seriously, all the food are very GOOD!!
Chicken Intestine soup …the broth is GOOD! Homecooked kampung soup!
Chicken rice has a chilli gravy poured on it but I requested the soya sauce instead.
This is one of the BEST MAGGI BANDUNG!!! It has squids, prawns, chicken….and the gravy wash OOoommpphhhh shiok!!!
Nasi goreng daging merah (fried rice with red meat)
Tom Yam soup very similar to its origin in Thailand. Yummy!
Fried kampung rice was tremendously YUMMY! Watch out for that cili padi!!
I ordered teh o limau ice(iced tea with lime) and it was very sHIOK!! The tea was very fragrant, tasted like there was a tiny bit of honey. And we asked what was the name of the tea brand …
Still… there’s more to come….
Next is Wang Kelian (Thailand border and Gua Kelam, one of the darkest caves in Perlis)…..
