My Raya eve at….

After 4 hours of stranded in one of the most intense non-moving traffic jam of the year (for me), I reached Johore (from Tuas checkpoint)yesterday. And as i looked out from my Hotel window today at 1pm, there is a long stretch of vehicles being stranded still…good luck.

Yesterday, check in at …

Puteri Pacific Hotel

Then we went to Giant hypermarket. Wanted to go to Tampoi (luckily I did not because i expect it to be very crowded) but my GPS showed us the nearest GIANT to Larkin bus interchange. I had never been to this branch before. Very quiet, less people…I like!

There is a money changer , hawker centre, fast foods like Marry brown and 1901 hotdogs…inside there are also DVD stalls, shops that sell muslimah clothes…

Photobucket
Saw some roasted chicken and bought one whole about RM17 (the most expensive i ever bought in Malaysia) but becos i cannot find any in the market except live ones and i fear the food stalls wont be opening today so Im buying early and storing them…ehehe!

Thruout the journey, I cannot find any lambs/sheeps or goats..or cows…”Baa baa black sheep, where are you?”

Then head back to hotel and watched one of my favourite tv show “Jalan-jalan cari makan” on TV3.Today episode is about SINGAPORE! The featured eatery (i watched halfway cos I just came back) so the tv host Ms Maria was featuring “BUMBU restaurant “@ Kandahar street (there were durian with glutinuous rice, rendang, tahu telor , baby squid..and lots more). And Ulu-ulu restaurant at Night Safari. I think the first restaurant featured was Garuda Restaurant (http://putri-berendam.blogspot.com/search/label/garuda).

Oh, u can watch tomorrow (monday) in Suria channel 8.30pm.

For more info on the show:

After that, I finish up my work and do some blogging. Meanwhile waiting for my photos to load, I was thinking (day dreaming actually) if I had the chance to host similar show( like the Spore & Malaysia Jalan2 cari makan hosts:Suzairie and Serina) , I would love to partner/work with Afdlin Shauki (from Malaysia). heheh! He makes me laugh….

  1. That Giant branch u went to is at Southern City, where the Xtra supermarket used to be.

You shd try eating at their foodcourt on 2nd storey. There's this stall called 'Kampung' something something.

The people handling that stall seemed to converse in the 'Minang' language so their food is pretty authentic Minang cuisine. If you're lucky, there will be a big variety of ulam available. Try their fried chicken. my bro can eat 3 pieces for himself!

The thai food stall at the other end is not bad also. They have more than 4 cooks cooking in there! They have this crispy sotong dish which everyone seem to order.

  2. Wow! CT, it seems that u r very familiar with the place. Didn't know there is a food court at 2nd place. Will try insya-Allah, next time. Thanks for informing!

Yahfiq-heheh! Not grand bluewave but Puteri Pacific….but yeah, their spread is a lot and all tasted good!
