This is what I had for Hari Raya Haji at kampung.
The people are warm and friendly. I reached there in the late afternoon thus it was late to witness any “LIVE korban” but nevertheless, it was great fun and enjoyable time at kampung.
Anyway, along the way, I did see some roadside muslim stalls selling banana fritters and stuff. (No break/holidays?) And even wet market bazaar (mostly chinese). So life goes on for them even on Hari Raya haji. Not much celebration ..perhaps due to the economic….
The food were Nasi Minyak, lemang, ketupat, laksa Johor, opor, kurma, mutton and chicken and acar , curry chicken…. all HOMECOOKED! Special finger licking food! and guess what did I bring..?? KFC chicken ehehe! (this wasnt a planned trip, its a last minute “okey lets go kinda thing”)I brought city fast food in exchange of yummy kampung food, great bargain isnt it? hehe!
This laksa Johor was one of the best I ever had. The thick ikan tenggiri gravy was so shiok, plus sambal belacan for that extra kick….
Full tummy landing at such shiok EMPUK bed, what else…Zzzz
Thank you Auntie Kalsom and family for welcoming us! Thank you for ur hospitality and ur yummy, yummy food! We are happy and full, thanks to u!Eid Mubarak!
