The start of a long road trip…..pit stop at ABC first.

Actually, wanted to have a farewell lunch at Clifford centre Banquet but was asked to be on standby the moment we left our home thus we decided to eat somewhere nearer.

Well, it was another trip to ABC Bt Merah hawker centre. This time, I found a stall that has some yummy sardines curry puff. So small and delicate and its fillings are so moist and congested with sardines. Not much onions, just how I love it! But if the skin is a bit thin and crispy, for sure, it will be one of the top! But so far, its good. And my eyes wander to the other appetizing colourful malay kuehs being displayed.

Tried almost everything . I love the tepung gomak kueh , a kueh that is chewy on the outer skin almost “sandy” because there is some sort of powder coaating and its filled with green beans ,I reckon. This kueh is not advised to be consumed in the desert especially when u are in need of water….We always joked about eating it after a 2.4Km run…and then drank up VLA (chocolate fla , very thick dairy product similar to chocolate milk but very thick density)…Hahaa! Dare to take the challenge?

Anyway, today the Kent Hainanese stall has a tiny bit of difference. Before that we spot there is another stall beside it with the same name but it’s a Nasi Padang stall and tended by an Indian. Hmm, I reckon it must be the same owner, a Chinese name stall selling Malay nasi padang and its tended by an Indian, very multi-racial.. I like that. But I did not see any HALAL cert unlike its chicken rice stall which prominently displayed its HALAL cert. But I did asked, he said its HALAL (but u felt unsure, just forget it…there are many other choices)

Oh, back to the KENT story. Today the chicken rice and the porridge has a hint of curry leaves somewhere. Me and my makan kaki gang are not able to detect it, is it from the chicken? Or the broth? Then we laughed perhaps, they had accidentally mixed up the recipe while preparing for the next door nasi padang..hehe!

Anyway, ignore the curry weird taste, the food would have tasted great as usual.

I had not much appetite. I was wandering aimlessly till I saw “longtong kering”.(I think from this Nusa&Tara stall) Just the longtong cakes with side dishes like rending, sambal goring, serunding (fried sweet dessicated coconut) and mini bergedil for only $2.50! Not bad! Like eating during Raya feast…Hmm..

Then the gado-gado is yum as usual (I think beside this NUSA&TARA stall, it also sells bakso).
