This is my second time here. Their fish noodles were so good that I came back for second helping. This time , I tried their congee. They have 2 kinds. One is chicken congee (with optional century egg 50cents) and another is fish congee with (optional egg 50 cents too).
It was yummy, yummy, yummy. The fish slices are quite generous and I can taste the finely slices ginger too. The porridge is thick and nice. Love it! Very big bowl too.For extra kick, there is cili padi on the side.
I think the price is $3 (excluding the eggs) Once I had this, I got addicted. Everytime, I pass by, my immediate reaction will be….”Oohh lala …Congee..”. Will purposely skip home breakfast to get my compulsory stopover here…..
Also in the same building (but on 1st storey), there is a indonesian stall that sells rendang so soft, that it literally melts in ur mouth…(I know Im supposed to stay away from rendang but this stall is found by accident…my eyes got attracted by its unique signboard)
These stinky petai are not that stinky so probably from Thailand. Safe for office workers to consume…heheh! But get ready some breath fresheners just in case…
The chicken is very nice! Crispy and full of flavour. I can taste the mixture of fragrant spices….
The stall owners are quite friendly. And I’m not sure about the price but I think its quite cheap. I bought 4 rendangs, 3 chicken wings and $1 petai to takeaway and cost only about $11.
AYAM POWER CUISINE
Another not to-be missed item is this “AYAM POWER CUISINE” (chicken POWER). One must be really bold and confident enough to have such a signboard for its stall. So I decided to give it a try.
The typical set comes in rice + tom yam soup (1st impression, I thought it was curry)+fried chicken & sambal (with some pieces of vegetables and lime)
Unsure whether this is ayam penyet because my chicken is not “PENYET” (smashed). But the tom yam is a refreshing new item for me because I never expect that. The fried chicken sure is good! Crispy on the outside , tender on the inside. With dollops of sambal, WAH! Shioklah…It opens near lunch time..probably 11.30am onwards.
