Zilan Seafood @ Hougang ave 8

Halal or not? Updated: July 2010

I used to patronise Zilan Seafood when I was younger and live nearer. My parents are one of their fans. Located at blk 684 Coffeeshop. One look and u thought it’s a chinese stall. But its a malay muslim stall with a male malay cook.

My parents adore their mee goreng basah(wet fried noodles($3) -not so dry)and their chicken rice. I love the mee bandung($3.50) and chicken rice($3) with their crispy fried chicken (often ask for the thighs)and after trying out their mee goreng recently, i must agree with “F” that it is one of the best mee goreng(if they put some beef or meat I will crawl everyday to their stall..cos I’m a carnivore..hehe!And their servings can feed 2 persons.

their yummy chicken rice with a sauce on top!)

fyi: beside blk 682..not sure what block (busstop located right in front of the coffeeshop)There is an indian muslim stall that sells Yummy briyani dam only on WEDNESDAYS and SATURDAYS. (last time, i treid was 2 years back, I do not know whether it is still there) Just look out for the sign-BRIYANI DAM on weds and sat then it is the right stall.
